Ellesse clothing was first introduced into the market in 1959 when it was established by founder Leonardo Servadio. The ‘Elesse’ derives from the initials of its founder ‘L’ and ‘S’. The popularity of Ellesse clothing grew increasingly in the 1970s when they introduced their great collection of skiwear and quilted jackets and over the years they worked closer with the sports industry.

In1979 Elesse clothing experienced a revelation as it become closely associated with tennis. From this point forward, especially through the 1970s and 1980s Ellesse clothing gained a reputation of combining sportswear functionality with designs styles and trends of the fashion industry.
